Garfield Park Conservatory

Whenever the temperature drops to freezing and the wind chill becomes painful, I cherish escapes to the Garfield Park Conservatory from the cold dreary winter weather.

The conservatory is about a 20 minute drive west of the loop and is filled with warm wonderful rooms brimming with plants of all sorts. While the fern room, desert room, and more are consistent and present year-round, the showroom changes seasonally.

This season it's called Sky Forest and it's filled with a hundreds of poinsettias,  endless hanging fir trees and an aroma that reminds me of a yummy holiday candle. If you haven't visited GPC yet, you must! It's size and vastness alone is a treat.
