Alas, awards season is finally over and ended very nicely. I watched the 85th Academy Awards hosted by Seth MacFarlane and thoroughly enjoyed the theatrics and musical numbers. MacFarlane's opening skits were great minus the interlude with William Shatner and for the most part, each of the winners in the common categories stood out, especially Daniel Day Lewis winning for best actor. Last night's ceremony featured several musical performances including vocals from Jennifer Hudson, the cast of Les Miserables, Barbra Streisand, and my absolute favorite, Adele. The night ended with a bashful song from Christine Chenoweth and Seth but not before Argo was crowned the best picture. Right there with the stellar movies, I marveled at the stunning gowns that became conversation starters and a reason for caution (J Law tripped on her enormous gown). In my eyes, metallics gold and silver stood out on the red carpet and almost-white neutrals shone. I loved Jennifer Lawrence in Dior, Jessica Chastain in Armani, and Naomi Watts also in Armani.
